bat365app手机版-体育下载-apple app store排行榜 principal project leader, Imran Bhamji is due to present at AMPP’s annual conference and expo in San Antonio, Texas on 8 March 2022.
Imran’s presentation, ‘Advanced Materials for Condensing Heat Transfer’ will take place as part of the ‘Geothermal Scaling and Corrosion’ session, with the presentation starting at 8:35am.
The work that informs this presentation was conducted as part of the GeoHex Project by Imran, alongside bat365app手机版-体育下载-apple app store排行榜 colleagues Shiladitya Paul, Alan Taylor, Anna Wojdyla-Cieslak, and Garima Mittal from Leicester University and the Materials Innovation Centre (MATIC).
The process of wetting solids with liquids is important for the efficiency of heat exchangers, particularly with condensation heat transfer.
Using superhygrophobic materials, surfaces or coatings to promote dropwise condensation, rather than film-forming, is expected to give rise to next generation, high efficiency designs.
The project designed and fabricated nanoscale metal oxides using a materials-by-design approach to enhance the properties of conventional hygrophobic coatings. The novel superhygrophobic coatings that came from this consisted of a polysiloxane matrix, which provides an inherently water repellent film, and functionalised silica nanoparticles, providing bottom-up roughness.
These coatings were applied to aluminum, copper, carbon steel and stainless steel substrates, offering solutions for a range of applications.
The new five-day AMPP Annual Conference and Expo unites the former CORROSION and Coatings+ events to deliver a robust programme of technical symposia, forums, workshops, standards and administrative meetings, along with a student poster session, networking events and a full exposition with a large equipment display.
